What the heck is an ASIO?
More to the point, it's the only way to get low-latency audio on Windows. Lots of devices have ASIO drivers, for example many devices made by companies like Presonus and Focusrite.
If your interface comes with ASIO drivers, use those to get the lowest latency! You may have to download them from your manufacturer's website. This is by far the best way to get low latency audio on Windows.
We recommend using an external audio interface that has ASIO compatible drivers made by the device manufacturer.
Note: At this time, JackTrip does not officially support ASIO4ALL because it is no longer an active open source project and it is difficult to use.
If you would like more information about using ASIO4ALL, please take a look at the video series that Synthia Payne created on YouTube.
