Note: JackTrip does not officially support ASIO4ALL. Users have reported difficulty installing and using it, especially on Windows 11.
In other words, beware- mileage may vary.
What the heck is an ASIO?
More to the point, it's the only way to get low-latency audio on Windows. Lots of devices have ASIO drivers, for example many devices made by companies like Presonus and Focusrite.
If your interface comes with ASIO drivers, do not install ASIO4ALL (use the provided drivers instead)!
If you don't have one of those devices, you'll need to download and install ASIO4ALL, an open source project that lets other sound cards get low-latency performance on Windows.
1. Download the ASIO4ALL installer
2. Configure ASIO4ALL according to the ASIO4ALL instruction manual
3. Select ASIO4ALL v2 for your Input and Output device
Please note that we provide this resource for information only- we do not make or support ASIO4ALL. We recommend using an audio interface that has ASIO compatible drivers made by the device manufacturer.
