When JackTrip Virtual Studio Devices are first powered on, the first thing they do is download and install any updates. If you device does not have the latest firmware, it can usually be fixed via the following steps:
- Unplug power to the device
- Take a deep breath (wait a few seconds)
- Plug the power back into the device
- Wait about 1 minute
- The latest firmware version should be displayed for your device
With older images, you may have to do this 1-2 times for the updates to work properly.
If it still doesn't update the device, you can force an update using the ssh command line utility:
ssh pi@jacktrip.local sudo systemctl restart jacktrip-patches
The password is "jacktrip". Try power cycling the device one more time after running this command.
Alternatively, you can just re-flash the MicroSD card using the latest Virtual Studio Device image. This will require updating your device's credentials after flashing. Use your browser to open http://jacktrip.local and use the form to update.
