Most Internet firewalls are configured by default to allow all outbound (egress) traffic that originates from your home network. If you run into problems with not being able to hear any sound on the loopback test, you may need to update your firewall's configuration to allow the following outbound traffic:
- For configuration: TCP port 443 (HTTPS)
- For latency and packet loss testing: ICMP
- For JackTrip servers: TCP port 4464 and UDP ports 61002-62000
- For Jamulus servers: UDP port 22124

Can I make a minor suggestion? AT&T Uverse routers consider 61001 to be reserved and will refuse to allow port forwarding. Thus as of 1.3.0, jacktrip servers start at 61002 and up by default. Changing your notes above to 61002 might save AT&T users from beating their heads against a wall needlessly.
Updated, thanks. Note that all managed Virtual Studio servers are currently running 1.3.0.
Thanks. But, wait, my brain is about to explode again. I'm running jacktrip 1.3.0 on an Ubuntu server here in the office. But it doesn't appear to have the options for AutoPan and amplify the output. Those live ... where? "SuperCollider"? Is that remaining inside the Foundation Managed servers? Which are still too far away from Atlanta?
Correct; all the mixing controls are currently only available on managed servers.
I was able to set the uVerse Gateway/Router to allow a pinhole for the JT device only which worked. I don't see a security concern but if others do let me know.
FYI, we have a VS box sitting on a LAN behind a Cisco RV180VPN router. In order for Jamulus to make a connection to a server in the outside world, we had to enable port triggering on 22124.
